If you've been coming to class a while and things have started to click, it may be time to level up!
At Pole in the Wall, a few of our levels are combined because many students are "in between" and combining levels also allows you to either revisit what you already know or challenge yourself, depending on which class you attend.
How do you know when it's time to level up? The best way to know is to ask your coach!
Or, you can use this helpful guide below, to figure out which classes are best for you.
Our beginner level pole classes are 60mins in length and Intro to Pole is where we all start our pole journey at Pole in the Wall. You can find them on the schedule listed as "Intro & Level 1 Pole."
Our intermediate pole class is on the schedule called, "Level 2 Pole Lab" and is 90mins in length so our experienced polers can dive into their own movement style after learning the basics.
Our advanced pole class is called, "Level 3+ Pole Lab" on the schedule and is also 90mins in length.
You are welcome to take as many classes as you like, and we also recommend intermediate & advanced students to return to basics too!
Want to wear heels? You can start bringing them to wear after your first class! We do suggest to always try new tricks without heels first to be safe, but the only way to get better at dancing in heels is to practice wearing them.
Our 60min Intro & Level 1 Pole Class will start you off moving around with basics like dip turns, body waves, floor moves, and knee pit spins like front and back hook.
When you are ready, you'll condition body weight tricks, like climbing and tricks that require you to be fully off the ground like figurehead and pole sits.
If you are feeling good with your jasmine, pirouettes, pole sits, and linking tricks together at the base of the pole or up a climb, you are ready for our Level 2 Pole Lab!
Our Pole Labs are 60mins of class followed by 30mins of open practice, and our Level 2 Pole Lab dives into your inverted journey, drilling moves like chopper and descending leg hooks, as well as incorporating more independent freestyle time at the end of class.
We've placed our Level 2's together in one Pole Lab to focus on getting upside down on the pole in ways that are safe for every body.
There are so many ways to get in and out of pole tricks when your body understands genie, brass monkey, leg hooks, and shoulder mounts.
Foundations and more will be drilled in Level 2 Pole Lab, and your coach will help you identify your own pole style and training routine. As always, bring your heels if you like to train in them!
Our Pole Labs are 60mins of class followed by 30mins of open practice, and this session is recommended for intermediate & advanced pole dancers who are comfortable in inverts, handstands, doing dynamic tricks in a row up the pole, and have a solid foundation of spin pole and how to control movement up and down the pole, as well as on the floor.
Level 3+ is the highest level class we offer at Pole in the Wall at the moment, but that is not to say we won't separate our upper level classes once there is more enrollment.
Let us know if you are in this pole lab and ready to level up!
We also have several classes that are open to all levels of pole dancers in many different styles.
We recommend you take a variety of the classes we offer and try different coaches to experience all the teaching styles, to help you find what you prefer!
Check out the classes we offer and let us know if you have any special requests for class additions for the future, or if you have questions about leveling up!
